Benjamin Franklin was a well respected member of the Continental Congress, and for good reasons. Ben played a large role in the revolutionary era. He put together most of the declaration of independence. He ran a printer shop. He was also a well know patriot, and one of the delegates. Many psople looked up to hm and he never let them down. He was so respected that Ben was the one who was sent to make France or allies. If the french didn't come we might have lost the war.
